Colour-code by role
Put Staff, Governor, and Student Guide in a Category column — each group gets its own colour band, so visitors can tell a sixth-former from the deputy head at a glance.
First names carry the badge
Visitors talk to "Sarah", not to "Mrs S. Whitmore, Assistant Headteacher". The generator sets the first name large by design; titles stay readable but secondary.
A6 for lanyards, A7 for clips
A6 (105 × 148 mm) suits standard lanyard sleeves for staff who will wear them all day; A7 works for student guides with clip holders.
Common questions
Does the pupil or staff list get uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing, design, and PDF generation all happen in your browser. Nothing reaches a server, so there is no data-sharing agreement to think about.
Can we add the school logo?
Yes — upload a PNG, JPG or SVG, then size and align it on the badge. It prints exactly as previewed.
What about photos from the open day?
Optionally, each badge can carry a Pictag marker so every photo taken on the day finds its person automatically — no facial recognition, and free for UK schools.
